WHAT IS TAPE?
Tape is a social app for experiences - helping culture explorers find good things to do and friends to do things with.
Unlike most events/experience apps that live in silos (Dice for music, Resy for restaurants, Eventbrite for events), Tape curates the best events, shows, and places across all experiences - art, music, films, restaurants, bars, nightlife, wellness, sports, shopping and more. DOES TAPE COMPETE WITH SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS OR COMPLIMENT THEM?
Instagram and Tiktok are great for mass awareness. But it’s hard to cut through and engage because audiences are there to scroll, not find things to do. And you have to compete with everyone from everywhere promoting everything!
If your goal is getting the right people to attend an experience you should work with Tape. Everything you see on Tape is something good you can do, and everyone comes to Tape looking for good things to do, so it’s not surprising our conversion rates are 5-10X social media.
HOW DOES TAPE WORK WITH TICKETING PLATFORMS?
Most ticketing platforms are great for booking but not very inspiring for browsing and discovering. We’ve designed Tape to be very visually appealing and convey the energy and artistry behind each event or experience.
You can RSVP to events directly on Tape but all paid bookings happen on third parties. We’re happy to direct to your venue’s website or to your preferred booking platform.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE TAPE’S AUDIENCE?
They are highly engaged, cross generational (core 25-35), cultural, outgoing and aspirational. Our core community was formed by inviting in the creators, operators and collaborators of culture venues so its a culturally influential crowd.
HOW BIG IS TAPE’S COMMUNITY?
Success on Tape is getting the right 50-5000 people to go to an experience - this is the range we feel confident about delivering depending on the nature of the shows/event/experiences. We are predominantly focused on meeting the needs of venues, events and festivals by filling spaces with a really engaged crowd vs driving millions of passive, empty impressions. Between Tape’s app and distribution network we currently reach an aspirational audience of over 1MM. Like various streaming and social platforms, we intend to remain somewhat private about our month to month numbers during our growth phase, but for certified partners we provide data on campaigns and promotions.
WHY IS THERE A LIMIT TO VENUE SIGNUPS?
We only invite best in class venues in each of our core categories. In year one we are providing white glove service and free in app marketing campaigns for shows and events from certified partners - these venues will get a range of first mover advantages in building community.
