The Most Powerful Survey of Art Post-Pandemic

Venice Biennial
POV
The Milk of Dreams, curated by Cecilia Allemani is a thought-provoking and prosaic eco-feminist message. Allemani curates works from a mostly unknown, exceptionally talented and international group of female artists, as she ruminates on the transformative qualities of the pandemic, and new possibilities for existence.

ABOUT
The Milk of Dreams takes its title from a children’s book by Leonora Carrington (1917–2011), inwhich the Surrealist artist tells dreamlike tales of hybrid, mutant creatures that seem too terrify young and old alike. Carrington’s stories describe a magical world where life is constantly re-envisioned through the prism of the imagination and where everyone can change, be transformed, or become something or someone else. The Exhibition takes Carrington’s otherworldly creatures as companions on an imaginary journey through metamorphoses of the body and definitions of the human. - Venice Biennial
